What it isA dedicated Windows source for revealing DACs
The USB Streamer is built as a Windows music source with the flexibility of a computer and the discipline of an audio transport. Library software, streaming software, and USB output are kept focused on the DAC or USB Reclocker instead of sharing the behavior of a normal desktop PC.
Software foundationStripped-down Windows, chosen for audio use
We start with Windows LTSE and remove the desktop clutter that does not belong in a dedicated source. JRiver Media Center is the recommended player for library handling, USB output control, and mature audio-device behavior; Roon, Audirvana, HQPlayer, Foobar2000, MusicBee, Plexamp, Logitech Media Server, and other Windows playback applications can be configured per build.
Tuning approachLess computer behavior in the listening chain
Efficient-core behavior, processor power states, memory behavior, and virtualization-related isolation are treated as tuning choices. The streamer is not built for benchmark speed; it is built to stay cool, fanless, predictable, and electrically quiet while the USB audio path is active.
Features
Built around the signal path
Fanless industrial platform
A passive industrial platform is selected for silent mechanical behavior and stable long-session operation.
Windows LTSE audio build
The Windows foundation is stripped back and configured as an audio source, not a general desktop.
Audiophile software ready
JRiver is the recommended player, with Roon, Audirvana, HQPlayer, Foobar2000, MusicBee, Plexamp, and other tools configured per build.
USB-first output path
The machine is configured around USB audio output to a DAC or USB Reclocker, including reclocker builds with AES output.
Power-state tuning
Efficient-core and C-state behavior are set for quiet source behavior rather than desktop responsiveness.
Memory and storage discipline
Playback is configured to reduce avoidable memory pressure, disk activity, and background churn.
Virtualization-aware isolation
Isolation features are used only when they improve the dedicated audio role.
Power supply sensitive
The platform is chosen for power-supply refinement so the final build can be voiced around the DAC and USB path.

System fit
Fit and voicing
| Role | A dedicated source component for systems built around an external USB DAC or USB Reclocker. |
|---|
| System match | USB DACs and USB Reclocker builds that benefit from a dedicated transport instead of a daily-use PC. |
|---|
| Software fit | Recommended with JRiver Media Center; configurable for Roon, Audirvana, HQPlayer, Foobar2000, MusicBee, Plexamp, Logitech Media Server, and other Windows-compatible players. |
|---|
| What to listen for | Steadier imaging, less edge, and lower fatigue in systems sensitive to computer and USB source noise. |
|---|
| Chain fit | Primary USB transport for direct USB DAC chains or USB Reclocker chains with USB or AES output. |

Linear power + transient recoveryPower tuned for a quieter USB source
Linear transformer-based power and local filtering keep compute activity, storage behavior, and the USB output away from noisy rails feeding the DAC.
